Privacy Policy

The following Privacy Policy sets out the principles for storing and accessing information on User's Device using Cookies, as well as information on processing of User's personal data for the purpose of providing electronic services.

I. Definitions

  1. Website: collection of web pages and digital resources located in the web domain setheat.polsl.pl.
  2. Administrator: Silesian University of Technology located at Akademicka 2A, 44-100 Gliwice, Poland, which operates the Website.
  3. User: an entity to whom electronic services may be provided in accordance with legal regulations, or with whom an Agreement for the provision of services by electronic means may be concluded.
  4. Account: an individual, password-protected account User can create in order to access certain resources on the Website.
  5. Registered User: User who had created an Account on the Website and is logged-in to the Account at a given time.
  6. Anonymous User: User who had not created an Account on the Website or is not logged-in to the Account at a given time.
  7. Device: any electronic device allowing User to access the Website.
  8. Cookies: small text files which can be saved and stored on, or retrieved from User's Device

II. Cookies policy

  1. The Administrator does not use Cookies to save, store or retrieve data on Anonymous User's Device.
  2. The Administrator uses Cookies to save, store and retrieve session identification data on Registered User's Device for the sole purpose of providing Account access functionality. All Cookies are deleted from User's Device when he/she logs out of the Account.
  3. The User may, independently and at any time, determine the conditions for storing cookies on the Device by changing the settings of the Internet browser.

III. Personal data processing policy

The Administrator processes consensually provided personal data of Registered Users for the purpose of contacting them with news and updates related to the subject of the Website.

Pursuant to Article 13 (1) and (2) of the REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (hereinafter referred to as "GDPR"), the Administrator informs that:

  1. The controller of personal data within the meaning of GDPR legislation is the Silesian University of Technology, which can be contacted by letter to the following address: Akademicka 2A, 44-100 Gliwice, Poland or by e-mail: RR1@polsl.pl
  2. The controller has appointed a Data Protection Officer who can be contacted in all matters concerning the processing of personal data by letter to the following address: Akademicka 2A, 44-100 Gliwice, Poland or by e-mail: iod@polsl.pl
  3. Personal data are processed pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR - the data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes.
  4. Personal data will not be shared with any third parties, except when required by legal or regulatory purposes.
  5. Personal data will not be subject to automated decision-making, including profiling.
  6. You have the following rights in relation to the processing of your personal data:
    • The right of access to your personal data;
    • The right to request the rectification of personal data that is inaccurate and the completion of incomplete personal data;
    • The right to request the erasure of personal data if there are grounds under Article 17 of the General Data Protection Regulation;
    • The right to request the restriction of the processing of personal data;
    • The right to lodge a complaint to the supervisory authority in charge of personal data protection, i.e. the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.
